Responsibilities

Research, development, and design of Naval Weapon systems including Weapons Handling and Magazine stowage systems in accordance with all contractual requirements, military and commercial specifications; initiate procurement specifications; review and approve vendor proposals; review, comment on, adjudicate and approve vendor furnished information for translation into construction products; interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives; support vendor design reviews and testing; develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings; interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure a seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment; address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility; support shipbuilding production department as required

Required

US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes
5 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
0 years with a PhD
Research, development, and design of Naval Weapon systems including Weapons Handling and Magazine stowage systems in accordance with all contractual requirements, military and commercial specifications
Initiate procurement specifications
Review and approve vendor proposals
Review, comment on, adjudicate and approve vendor furnished information for translation into construction products
Interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives
Support vendor design reviews and testing
Develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings
Interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure a seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment
Address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility
Support shipbuilding production department as required

Preferred

Experience with Armament systems such as Torpedo required but could be used to determine who is most qualified
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
