Responsibilities
Coordinates the processing of accounts payable
Reviews invoices received, troubleshoots to get coding, management approvals, and other missing information
Enters approved invoices into the system and schedules payments to take advantage of discounts while maximizing cash flow
Runs reports and analyzes data to ensure appropriate coding and payment dates
Communicates with outside vendors regarding missing invoices, terms, credit rating, or other information regarding accounts payable
Reconciles problem accounts as needed
Files invoices with vouchers and processes credit memos
Assures that vendors recognize the organization's tax-free status
Supports the department's month and year-end closing processes through the timely completion of accounts payable tasks
Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in-services, and other related activities
Generates reports and ensures that all outstanding invoices are posted in the system prior to closing
Performs other duties as assigned
Communicates with managers to get approvals and rectify coding errors
Qualification
Required
Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements
Able to work with basic accounting principles and procedures
Knowledge of application of accounts payable database (i.e. CYMA)
Ability to complete Hospice Orientation and Training, as necessary
High School Grad or Equiv
1+ related experience in accounting/accounts payable is required
Preferred
Accounting background specific to Accounts Payable processing
Experience with database applications
