Operations Training & Development Supervisor

Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC is a leading chemical toll manufacturer in the U.S. seeking an Operations Training and Development Supervisor to develop and maintain the plant's operational training program. The role involves planning training initiatives, creating training materials, and coaching employees to meet their development goals.

Responsibilities

Plans short-term and long-term plant operational training, employee development goals and initiatives in conjunction with leadership and based on employee interviews, employee surveys and a review of best practices
Develops necessary training materials to include position, job and area specific work instructions, standard work and classroom presentations
Trains or arranges training for employees on the procedural requirements of their position, equipment-specific training related to their areas of responsibility, plant-wide safety procedures, core values, critical thinking for decision making and professional development
Works with the Plant Operations Team to identify and define employee-specific training goals and coaches individual employees to support them in achieving these goals
Defines and documents employee progress in conjunction with Plant Operations Team and Human Resources
Coaches employees on developmental topics such as decision making, troubleshooting, working through problems, when to ask for help and detailed communication practices
Provides work direction and guidance to assigned team and prioritizes work assignments
Creates process picture maps, video tutorials, PowerPoint presentations and other signage and training documents
Meets with Plant Operations Manager and Area Managers regularly to identify upcoming process startups that may require additional hands on training
Uses this information to build daily and weekly training schedules
Participates in project design reviews with a focus on what is needed by the employees in order for ease of use and ease of training
Identifies cross training opportunities through similar systems plant wide
Works with Plant Engineer to complete Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and project acceptance testing
Assists in equipment controls testing and startups in order to become familiar with new equipment to create training materials and conduct system specific employee training
Works closely with Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineers on improvement projects, helps identify areas for improvement found by employees while on the job or during the course of hands-on training with employees
Collects data to justify the cost of improvements and trains employees on the changes and improvements
Meets quarterly with the plant leadership team to review accomplishments, successes and failures throughout the past quarter
Identifies areas of focus going forward and conveys results to the team
Effectively conveys ideas to others, actively listens and gathers information
Gives and receives critical feedback and speaks publicly to clearly facilitate learning to diverse audiences
Creates training videos while working in the plant and on the production line close to equipment
Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
Other work-related duties as assigned by your leader
Regular and reliable attendance is required

Required

A bachelor's degree in a related field is required
Two years of work experience in a related field is required
Ability to produce eLearning content using various multimedia elements
An aptitude and interest to lead and coach the development of other team members
Interacts and influences employees across multiple job levels and responsibilities
Manages multiple priorities and timelines
Superior communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends
Ability to read, write and speak in English is required
Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required
Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena

Preferred

Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena
