Family Service Center (FSC) is a growing not-for-profit community-based mental health agency located in Northfield, Illinois. They are looking for passionate interns/externs focused on child and adolescent mental health to provide therapy and facilitate group programs while gaining clinical experience.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and family psychotherapy. Facilitate group psychoeducation and/or therapy programs
Complete diagnostic biopsychosocial assessment and treatment planning, including differential diagnosis using DSM5-TR and ICD-10 classification systems
Maintain clinical documentation that satisfies the medical necessity stipulation of third-party payors
Participate in weekly on-site supervision
Participate in FSC clinical staff meetings and consultations
Participate in monthly clinical training
Under the guidance of a licensed clinician, conduct crisis assessment and intervention

Required

Completion of all academic requirements necessary to engage in clinical field placement
Previous experience and continued interest in working with children/adolescents
Flexible schedule, with the ability to be onsite on Mondays between 11:00 am and 2:00pm (for trainings/meetings) and at least two evenings until 8:00 (for clients)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Comfort and competence in navigating a digital work environment (i.e., MS Office365, EHR, telehealth)
Ability to be in placement for a minimum of 10 months, with the option of up to 12 months
Maturity and self-direction
Willingness to engage in self-reflection
Previous clinical experience or other involvement in areas related to FSC mission
