Management Analyst I

City of Mesa is looking to fill a vacancy in their Management Analyst Program, aimed at attracting promising professionals interested in local government management. The Management Analyst I will be responsible for preparing and administering the City’s annual operating budget and performing performance management-related analysis to support departmental operations.

Responsibilities

Perform progressively responsible work in the preparation and administration of the City’s annual operating budget
Prepare five-year Capital Improvement Program budget
Conduct multi-year revenue/expenditure projections
Provide performance management-related analysis and support of departmental operations
Receive direction and assignments from the Office of Management and Budget Director or senior staff
Initially perform work under close supervision as training and development is provided
Progress to more independent work as competence increases
Supervise and assist in training interns

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Public Policy, or Public Affairs prior to start of employment (June 1, 2026) as a Management Analyst I
Must pass a background investigation through the City of Mesa Police Department, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Federal Bureau of Investigation prior to commencing employment or assignment with the City of Mesa to allow full, unescorted access to Police facilities
