Intern, Industrial Engineer
The GSI Group is a leading global designer and manufacturer of innovative equipment solutions for grain and protein technologies. They are seeking an Industrial Engineer intern to join their Continuous Improvement team, focusing on various responsibilities aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes.
Printing
Responsibilities
Participating in lean kaizen events
Contribute to identifying waste in manufacturing processes
Conduct time studies for manufacturing processes
Design and implement visual management improvements
Prepare standard work instructions for manufacturing processes
Operator workstation layout and flow improvements
Part presentation design and implementation, PFEP (plan for every part)
Provide support in problem solving activities
Provide support on custom fixture design, build, and implementation
Qualification
Required
Enrollment in an IE/ME Engineering degree program, or related field
Must be registered as a full-time student
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
Data analysis skills
Experience in AutoCAD
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Preferably have completed one or more internships and/or have working experience (e.g. part time job)
