Responsibilities
Design community-driven features that allow users to express identity, interact socially, and engage more deeply with content
Build fandom-based experiences that reward participation, loyalty, and discovery
Translate user and reader behavior into scalable engagement systems
Lead the conceptual development of AI-powered characters and avatars
Ensure character quality, narrative consistency, and alignment with fan expectations
Partner with an external AI vendor to bring characters to life at scale
Design collectible systems, progression loops, leveling journeys, and unlockables
Help define virtual items, currencies, and reward systems tied to engagement
Apply game design thinking to non-traditional entertainment environments
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to turn concepts into shipped features
Work with IP stakeholders and creators to ensure experiences respect storylines and creative intent
Bring concepts forward clearly so teams can design, build, and implement effectively
Qualification
Required
3–7 years of experience in community-driven products
3–7 years of experience in game studios, live-service games, or UGC platforms
3–7 years of experience in virtual worlds, social platforms, or interactive entertainment
Proven experience designing systems, not just features
Strong user and community research instincts
Preferred
Game studios (especially systems, economy, or live-ops adjacent roles)
Platforms like Roblox, Fortnite, Discord, Character.AI, or similar
Experience with fandom-heavy audiences (gaming, animation, pop culture, music)
Experience with virtual economies or monetization systems
Familiarity with AI-powered consumer products
Passion for pop culture, animation, or fandom-based entertainment
