National Security Strategist

Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with officials in the White House, Department of War, intelligence agencies, and relevant Congressional committees
Represent HPE’s interests in legislative and regulatory matters related to national security, including networking, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, and export controls
Advocate for technology modernization, defense, and national security priorities, including procurement and appropriations
Interpret and analyze laws and regulations affecting national security, export controls, and cybersecurity
Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance and proactively address emerging regulatory risks in the federal sector
Lead the creation and implementation of policies supporting market access and business growth in national security domains
Develop corporate positions and action plans on executive and legislative matters impacting HPE’s federal and intelligence customers
Support sales teams, providing policy guidance and advocacy for technology solutions
Position HPE’s innovation and thought leadership with the Administration, Congress, and within federal agencies, focusing on secure networking, cybersecurity, and compliance
Advise on export control regulations and ensure HPE’s offerings meet federal requirements for national security-related sales
Monitor and respond to changes in export control laws affecting technology sales to defense and intelligence sectors
Deliver clear, persuasive communications to government, legal, and public policy audiences, articulating HPE’s positions on national security topics
Mentor team members, foster collaboration, and ensure continuity during transitions
Coordinate closely with HPE’s business units, legal, global operations, and communications teams
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5+ years' experience in government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, or advocacy, with a focus on national security, defense, or intelligence sectors
Degree in Law, Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or a relevant field
Ideal candidate will have security clearance and credentials
Strong policy background in interpreting laws and regulations, especially export controls and cybersecurity
Demonstrated success in supporting sales enablement and compliance for federal and intelligence customers
Experience navigating complex legal and regulatory environments, driving strategic outcomes through advocacy
Superior knowledge of Congressional legislative processes, federal budget, and appropriations
Experience in the technology industry, with expertise in IT policy, cybersecurity, and networking
Highly organized, with strong project management skills and a track record of successful execution
