Electronics Engineer (Industrial Controls)
DLA Careers is seeking an Electronics Engineer specializing in Industrial Controls. The role involves supporting Industrial Control Systems and serving as a technical expert for various control systems and software components, while also participating in budgeting and risk assessments.

Responsibilities
Support for Industrial Control Systems for equipment and facilities as they relate to Automated Material Handling Systems, Building/Utility Control Systems, and Electronic Security Systems
Serves as technical expert for installing and maintaining Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS) software and components
Assists in the design, integration, operation, training, deployment, maintenance, and protection of electronic assets used in support of the Engineering Division’s mission
Participates in developing and forecasting budgets for annual and long-range projections to ensure implementation, operations, and maintenance , and lifecycle sustainment of the enterprise architecture
Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed engineering (control, building automation) systems to identify operational capabilities and limitations

Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Basic Requirement: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in professional engineering
The program must be in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum
The program must include differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials; and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics
A combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering
Professional Registration or Licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration
Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences
Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology
One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position
Applying information systems security principles and concepts to implement information assurance (IA) programs
Serving as a technical expert responsible for the planning, design, fielding, operation, protection, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of all components of the Industrial Controls System (ICS)
Applying Electronics Engineering concepts to design, develop, and manage the servers, workstations, applications, databases, protocol gateways, and physical/mechanical devices
Applying Electronics Engineering concepts to design, develop, and manage complex projects
Serving as a technical expert, responsible for assisting in the planning, design, fielding, operation, protection, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of all components of the Industrial Controls System (ICS) and Command and Control (C2) systems
Presenting the results of research conducted through analytical investigations to various venues
Applying Electronics Engineering concepts to design, develop, and manage intermediate-level projects
Assisting with research and presentation of projects
Applying Basic Electronics Engineering concepts to design, develop, and manage simple projects
Serving as a Novice, learning basic knowledge of industrial controls including the related software, hardware, and systems
Assisting with research and presentation of projects
Education cannot be substituted in lieu of specialized experience for GS-12
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree for GS-11
2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree for GS-09
1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement for GS-07
