Responsibilities
Conduct inspections for Building, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in residential and commercial structures
Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code, County and City ordinances, and applicable trade codes
Communicate clearly with clients and contractors to explain code requirements and inspection outcomes
Organize and manage daily inspection routes efficiently
Maintain accurate documentation and submit inspection reports
Update inspection results in permit databases and stay current on code changes through independent research
Qualification
Required
Active BIN # (Building Inspector Number) issued by the State of Florida
Certification and experience in at least one of the following trades: Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing
OR
Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Structural Engineering or MEP Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) AND a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Strong knowledge of applicable codes (Florida Building Code, NFPA-70, Plumbing/Mechanical Codes)
Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the designated counties
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Preferred
Multi-trade certifications
Experience with private provider inspections
Familiarity with permit databases and digital reporting tools
