Responsibilities
Book appointments for services at South Shore Hospital (SSH). Booking may be done with the patient, physician, physician’s office or by fax
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, owning entire process from beginning to end, but not limited to: Patient Payment Estimation, Scheduling Appointments, Collection of co-pays, Provision of Interpreter Services, Provision of transportation
Will insure that patient has a complete understanding of tests scheduled and any preps that are necessary
Accurate pre registration of all patients accounts (meets department standard of 98% accuracy on all registrations)
Is efficient using all scheduling software for all appt types
Responsible for all verification of insurance benefits for all accounts
Retrieves all authorizations as necessary
Can determine co-pays and collect them using eCashiering program
Will coordinate with the Authorization team
Knows when to escalate issues appropriately to higher level( Team Leader)
Participates in continued learning and possess a willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures that continue to develop in their role and throughout the organization
Embraces technological advances that allow us to communicate information effectively and efficiently based on role
Qualification

Medical Terminology
Strong computer skills
Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated skills in customer service
Knowledge of health insurance requirements
Able to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a team setting
Minimum one (1) year admitting experience to become proficient
Preferred
High school diploma, two (2) years of college preferred
