Responsibilities
Safely operate various production equipment, including vacuum forming machines, hot presses, and CNC machinery
Interpret work orders and specifications to produce ceramic fiber insulating shapes accurately
Set up jobs according to work order instructions and job prints, ensuring optimal production efficiency
Perform quality control checks using precision measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
Monitor production processes for out-of-tolerance readings and promptly report any discrepancies to supervision
Maintain accurate records of inspection results, raw material usage, and part quantities to support inventory management
Utilize computer terminals on the shop floor to clock in and out of jobs, ensuring proper time tracking
Communicate effectively with supervision regarding any issues, barriers, or equipment malfunctions that may impact production goals
Conduct basic Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks to ensure equipment cleanliness and operational readiness
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or General Education Development (GED), plus a minimum one (1) year of manufacturing/machine operation experience
Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and work orders
Ability to use hand operated and power tools, and perform tasks with precision and manual dexterity
Basic mechanical and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
Ability to apply form of measurement and other work material calculations utilizing a calculator
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
Ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization
Genuine with high ethical standards and values, and personal integrity and honesty
Ability to apply a large measure of common sense to a variety of situations
Basic computer skills and ability to use a variety of software applications systems and scanning technology
Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information
Ability to work independently, without significant direction and to use resources effectively to 'figure it out'
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
Basic understanding of work/labor scheduling
Ability to communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing
Ability to frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift, maneuver, or handle materials weighing up to 60 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
