Responsibilities

Assist with monitoring security alerts and analyzing potential threats
Support vulnerability assessments and patch management activities
Help with documenting security procedures, incident reports, and compliance tasks
Participate in security audits, risk assessments, or awareness training
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices

Required

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Preferred

Extracurricular involvement in school groups/clubs and/or the community
3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
Security-related certifications in progress (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, or similar)
Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Understanding of basic cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
Strong communication skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills
Proven strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
Security+ certification or training
Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
Experience with cybersecurity concepts such as threats, vulnerabilities, access controls, security best practices, log analysis, and troubleshooting security issues
Experience with C++, C, Java, Python, Ada or related tools/languages
