They are seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Associate to join their sophisticated labor, employment, and benefits practice, focusing on advising employers on employee benefits and executive compensation matters.

Responsibilities

Advise employers on a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters
Provide guidance on ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related federal and state benefits laws
Draft, review, and amend qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and related documentation
Counsel clients on benefits issues arising in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions
Assist with IRS and DOL compliance, audits, and correction programs
Support plan governance, fiduciary compliance, and risk mitigation strategies
Collaborate with labor & employment, corporate, and tax attorneys on cross-disciplinary matters

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
2-5+ years of experience practicing employee benefits and executive compensation law
Strong working knowledge of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code provisions related to benefits, and agency regulations
Experience advising on retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation arrangements
Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Strong client-facing and communication abilities
Pennsylvania Bar admission or ability to obtain admission promptly

Preferred

Experience supporting corporate transactions involving employee benefits
Familiarity with correction programs such as EPCRS and VFCP
Background in a law firm employee benefits or labor & employment practice
