INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II
The Employment Development Department (EDD) is one of the largest State departments in California, dedicated to connecting job seekers and employers. They are seeking an Information Technology Specialist II to design and implement security infrastructure for enterprise information systems, ensuring adherence to security standards and mentoring staff in security practices.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the engineering, implementation, maintenance, and operations of the organization's statewide Enterprise Infrastructure security systems
Design modern security infrastructure architecture in cloud computing with virtual servers
Serve as a lead technical specialist in support of the organization's enterprise information security engineering and operations, including all associated hardware/software components and the confidential and sensitive data used at EDD
Perform a wide range of high-level technical tasks requiring innovative problem-solving
Act as a subject matter expert in security strategy and lead specialist in security oversight activities for ongoing projects
Mentor, train and support section staff to ensure adherence to EDD's security standards and methods
Complete projects in a timely manner
Act as an Architect engineer on infrastructure security projects
Work independently as a high-level architect on more complex system assignments associated with EDD security systems or serve as a leader within project teams on infrastructure security engineering systems projects
Qualification
Required
Experience in engineering, implementation, maintenance, and operations of enterprise infrastructure security systems
Knowledge of designing modern security infrastructure architecture in cloud computing with virtual servers
Ability to serve as a lead technical specialist in support of enterprise information security engineering and operations
Experience with hardware/software components and handling confidential and sensitive data
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to undertake a variety of roles, including subject matter expert in security strategy
Experience in mentoring, training, and supporting staff to ensure adherence to security standards
Ability to act as an Architect engineer on infrastructure security projects
Experience working independently on complex system assignments or as a leader within project teams
