Digital Hardware Engineer

PMB Talent Partners is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Digital Hardware Engineer who will take ownership of the full hardware lifecycle—from conceptualizing high-level requirements to seeing designs move through manufacturing and into the field. The role involves leading the design cycle, executing test plans, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Comprehensive technical knowledge of embedded microprocessor design and integration for ARM Cores, DDR memory interfaces, and high-bandwidth USB and Ethernet
Proficient use of simulation tools such as LTSpice for circuitry, HyperLynx for signal integrity, and MATLAB for system-level modeling
Proven ability to lead the full design cycle—including requirement analysis, schematic capture (using Mentor VX/Designer), and complex high-speed layout analysis
Expertise in executing subsystem and system-level test plans, using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) to identify and resolve critical hardware defects
Experience designing for MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC) and adhering to IPC standards to ensure hardware survivability in high-reliability environments
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance

Required

Bachelors degree in electrical/computer engineering or a related field
6+ years of relevant experience (4+ with a masters degree)

Familiarity with SDR architectures, embedded SW/VHDL, and configuration management tools like Agile
A nuanced understanding of Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures and the interaction between digital boards and RF circuitry
Experience using embedded software, scripting (e.g., Python), or VHDL to automate design analysis and facilitate rapid troubleshooting
Proficiency with Agile PLM software to manage product data and streamline manufacturing introduction
Familiarity with Boundary Scan tools (JTAG) for testing high-density PCBAs where physical probe access is limited
