Responsibilities

Installing, removing, calibrating and repairing of refinery electronic digital and analog and pneumatic process control instruments
Installing and maintaining on-line analyzers
Tuning Instrument control loops
Testing and maintaining Instrument Safety Systems
Troubleshooting, maintaining and overhauling process control valves
Fabricating small diameter instrument tubing
Testing and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers
Preparing schematic drawings, sketches and reports to reflect activities
Coordinating work of others as needed
Assuring compliance with all company policies and procedures and training requirements

Required

Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid driver's license
3 or more years of experience as a journeyman level Instrument Craftsperson in an oil refinery, chemical process, electric utility, electrical distribution equipment testing or similar facility
Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to: Lift up to 50 pounds
Climb up to 285 feet in height
Work near large, hot, high-speed machines
Work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
Work overtime
Work with petroleum products that are under high pressure and heat
Work outside in harsh weather conditions
Maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (including but not limited to items such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection, fall protection)
Work around chemicals, including acids and bases, that may be under high pressure
Read at a level to understand safety procedures, work procedures, work permits, and instruction manuals written in English

Preferred

Completion of an industrial instrument craft apprenticeship or a relevant Associate's degree
Strong oral and written communication skills pertaining to documenting inspection and repair information
Proficiency in computer usage basics including e-mail, Windows navigation, SAP
