AGO Investigator/Analyst, Torts Division, Seattle
NEOGOV is seeking a permanent full-time AGO Investigator/Analyst in the Torts Division located in Seattle, Washington. This role involves conducting investigations of complex tort claims and suits against state agencies, ensuring appropriate legal defense in state and federal courts.

Responsibilities
Conduct investigations of complex, technical and multi-issue tort claims and suits with high dollar value and/or of a high profile nature
Plan and conduct effective, fair, and confidential interviews
Gather and evaluate information from multiple sources and document findings accurately and thoroughly
Use tact and professionalism when addressing sensitive matters and organize evidence to support sound analysis, discovery, and decision-making
Prepare clear reports, maintain logs and case documentation, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Credibly present findings in court or administrative hearings
Prioritize and manage multiple cases under time-sensitive conditions and analyze complex information
Apply basic principles of Washington tort law and make decisions consistent with agency policy and legal standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience conducting investigations, which include the authority to independently plan and conduct investigations in civil or criminal cases
Additional qualifying investigative experience may substitute year for year for education
Strong investigative skills, including the ability to plan and conduct effective, fair, and confidential interviews
Ability to gather and evaluate information from multiple sources
Ability to document findings accurately and thoroughly
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to prepare clear reports, maintain logs and case documentation
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Ability to credibly present findings in court or administrative hearings
Excellent judgment, workload management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases under time-sensitive conditions
Ability to analyze complex information
Ability to apply basic principles of Washington tort law
Ability to make decisions consistent with agency policy and legal standards
Professionalism, emotional intelligence, respect for confidentiality and diversity
Ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining objectivity, accountability, and continuous learning
Preferred
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Demonstrate critical thinking and an ability to distill the critical points and questions from large and diverse sources of information
