Responsibilities

Act as the frontline technical expert, working directly with customers and taking ownership of assigned contracts, ships, and customer relationships
Participate in new Electrical & Automation projects with agreement customers
Manage the SFOC (Specific Fuel Oil Consumption) measuring chain ensuring its reliability
Execute technical audits and troubleshooting onboard ships when engine performance, quality issues, or control systems do not meet quality requirements
Monitor non-conformity cost statistics and initiate product improvement cases when automation and electrical component quality falls short
Propose, plan, and execute upgrades to reduce unplanned costs, increase reliability, and achieve fuel consumption or emission reductions
Provide remote Electrical & Automation support for Wärtsilä teams onboard cruise ships

Required

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Marine Engineering, or related field
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marine electrical and automation systems, engine performance analysis, and troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of electrical and automation systems in marine applications
Ability to perform technical audits and root cause analysis
Willingness to travel internationally up to 60% of the time and work onboard ships
Ability to provide remote technical support across time zones

Preferred

Previous experience with Wärtsilä products and cruise ship operations
Familiarity with emission reduction technologies and fuel optimisation strategies
Project management experience in upgrade commissioning
