Responsibilities

Manages and coordinates the operations in the Resource Center and provides essential resources and assistance to individuals in need of legal aid
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Resource Center, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
Manages and supports the Resource Center's staff, including communicating job expectations, conducting performance reviews, and addressing training and coaching needs as necessary
Recruits, trains, and manages a team to ensure the provision of high-quality assistance to litigants
Maintains and tracks the Resource Center database of inquiries and responses and provides statistical and/or narrative reports on a routine basis regarding the Resource Center
Maintains contact with Administrative Law Judges; the Clerk of the Court and their staff; Office of the General Counsel; OAH Resource Center Committee; other OAH senior staff; other District, federal, state, and local agency staff; parties and members of the public
Meets Resource Center financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, and scheduling expenditures
Develops and implements Resource Center policies and procedures in compliance with relevant statutes, rules, and business practices
Develop educational and reference materials that can be used by litigants to enhance their understanding of legal processes and options

Required

Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level
LLB or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) are preferred
Work is generally performed in an office or courtroom setting
The work is sedentary. However, there may be some walking; handling, carrying and occasional lifting and movement of light and heavy objects such as documents, exhibits, records, briefcases, and office furniture or equipment are required
This position has been designated as security-sensitive therefore the incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC Personnel Regulations, Suitability and as such, incumbents of this position shall be subject to criminal background checks, background investigations, and mandatory drug and alcohol testing, as applicable
Applicants claiming 'Residency Preference' will be required to maintain residency in the District of Columbia for a minimum of seven (7) years. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of employment
