Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical analysis and design efforts for various projects and facilities including, but not limited to, shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, tieback anchors, soil nails, slope stability design and/or stabilization
Prepare written reports and documentation, geotechnical correspondence, design and construction drawings and specifications
Plan subsurface explorations and laboratory testing investigations
Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities
Assist senior staff in managing our client relationships, including business and new client development to expand the breadth of our existing services
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Massachusetts
10-15 years of geotechnical experience with an emphasis in design and development of geotechnical deliverables including investigation and design reports, drawings, and specifications
Experience preparing MassDOT reports and design documents for roadway, bridge, retaining wall, and related infrastructure, along with similar experience with other local agencies including: MBTA, Massport, CTDOT, RIDOT and MaineDOT
Experience in slope stability analysis, shallow and deep foundation design including axial and lateral capacity, retaining structure design, settlement, etc
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, gINT, APILE, LPILE, GRLWEAP, SHAFT, and Slope/W (or similar)
Strong analytical and report writing skills
Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment
Strong leadership ability and personal initiative
Must have current Driver's License
Preferred
Master's Degree with Geotechnical focus
Field experience with construction observation for highway and transportation projects
