Responsibilities
Support the implementation of modern data architecture patterns such as Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
Design and oversee complex ETL/ELT logic to enable reliable, multi-stage data pipelines
Define technical requirements for data staging, landing zones, and historical data retention
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings and transformation logic
Define business rules, data standards, and automated quality validation checks
Ensure data privacy, classification, and governance requirements are embedded into system design
Maintain technical metadata, lineage, and documentation using governance and cataloging tools
Translate business needs into Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and Technical Design Documents (TDD)
Optimize semantic data models to support BI tools such as Power BI and Business Objects
Perform SQL-based data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis
Prepare data environments to support advanced analytics and AI/ML readiness
Review and optimize existing data flows and pipelines for efficiency and reliability
Act as the technical point of contact across data engineers, analysts, DevOps, and business teams
Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Experience Level: Senior (10+ years)
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
Strong experience with modern data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks, Delta Lake, or similar
Advanced proficiency in SQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting
Experience designing and managing ETL/ELT workflows and multi-stage data pipelines
Hands-on exposure to data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, or Informatica
Proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling and DAX/M-Code
Experience creating technical documentation (FSDs, TDDs, data dictionaries, and lineage diagrams)
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Working knowledge of Python for data analysis
