Supervisory Auditor
DC Department of Human Resources is seeking a Supervisory Auditor to lead the Office of the Inspector General Audit Unit. This role involves managing audit staff, overseeing complex audits, and ensuring high-quality audit work products while fostering accountability and performance management.

Responsibilities
In conjunction with the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Audits (DAIGA) or Assistant Inspector General for Audits (AIGA), plans, directs, and monitors complex audits and special projects; establishes engagement objectives, scopes, milestones, and deliverables; allocates resources appropriately; and ensures audit work is completed timely and in accordance with GAGAS (Yellow Book)
Directly supervises audit staff and serves as the first-line leader for day-to-day workforce management, including workload planning, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring staff understand performance while managing employee performance using timely, documented feedback; develops corrective action plans as needed; and addresses low performance, misconduct, and unprofessional conduct in coordination with OIG leadership and Human Resources
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degrees in accounting, auditing, or a degree, including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting
At least three (3) years of progressive leadership experience in an official supervisory and/or audit management role with responsibility for leading staff, managing performance, and delivering results in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred
Experience leading teams through operational changes in a government audit environment (OIG, GAO, state/local audit, internal audit, or public accounting)
A professional certification such as CPA, CFE, CIA, CIGA, CISA, CICA, or willing to obtain within a year of employment
