Energy & Professional Services Intern

Energy Northwest is seeking a driven and detail-oriented intern to join the Energy Services & Development (ESD) team for a full-time, year-long internship. The intern will support planning, coordination, and implementation of innovative energy initiatives, providing exposure to project management and renewable energy planning.

Responsibilities

Support project planning and execution for clean energy programs including EV infrastructure, energy storage, distributed energy resources, and workforce development
Assist with data tracking, reporting, and performance metrics for ongoing projects
Conduct research and support the development of scopes, budgets, and schedules
Participate in meetings and collaborate with internal and external project partners
Support preparation of materials such as presentations, reports, and proposals
Help maintain documentation and ensure accuracy of project files and updates
Contribute to special projects as assigned by the ESD team

Required

Requires current part to full time enrollment status in a bachelor's or graduate degree program in a technical field related to the assigned role at an accredited college or university
Must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative G.P.A. unless approved by Human Resources
The selected candidate will be expected to be available to work onsite in Richland, WA
High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Interest in clean energy, public power, or infrastructure development
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a professional setting

Benefits

Temporary employees may be required to participate in the Washington State Pension Plan (PERS)
May also be eligible to enroll in medical insurance if the duration and hours worked requirements are met
Temporary employees accrue paid time off that is available to use after 90 days of employment.
