Data Scientist
Apt is a growing company seeking a highly analytical and innovative Data Scientist to lead the development of predictive and prescriptive models that drive smarter business decisions. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate complex data into actionable insights and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and deploy predictive and prescriptive models to solve real-world business problems (forecasting, optimization, recommendation systems, risk modeling, etc.)
Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for automation and decision support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, analytics, and business leaders) to define modeling objectives and success metrics
Develop end-to-end modeling pipelines, from data exploration and feature engineering to model validation and deployment
Evaluate and improve model performance using appropriate statistical and machine learning techniques
Translate model outputs into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Document methodologies, assumptions, and results to support transparency and reproducibility
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Hands-on experience building predictive and prescriptive models in a production environment
Strong proficiency in Python or R and experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Solid foundation in statistics, probability, optimization, and machine learning algorithms
Experience working with SQL and large-scale data environments (cloud platforms, data warehouses, or big data tools)
Ability to clearly communicate complex analytical concepts to business partners
Experience deploying models into production (APIs, batch scoring, MLOps) is a strong plus
Preferred
Experience with optimization techniques and operations research
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps frameworks
