Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems that support modern transportation infrastructure
Lead and support projects from concept through completion, utilizing advanced design and analysis software
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and integrate new technologies to support the future of transportation

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain licensure within six (6) months
4+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, preferably supporting transportation, ITS, or signal systems projects
Proficiency with electrical analysis tools, CADD platforms, data analytics, and a solid understanding of electrical/electronic systems for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and traffic signal infrastructure
Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for traffic signals, LED roadway/area lighting, smart signage, and power distribution networks
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for site assessments (up to 30% within the Southeast region)

Preferred

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related advanced technical discipline
Experience with electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including system planning, power distribution considerations, and integration with transportation networks
Prior design experience with state Departments of Transportation, regional planning organizations, or transit agencies, demonstrating familiarity with public‑sector standards, procedures, and permitting processes
