Responsibilities
Perform service entrance, feeder and branch circuit calculations, lighting calculations, voltage drop, AIC etc
Selection and sizing of equipment service and distribution equipment
Layout and design of power distribution systems, lighting systems fire alarm systems, voice/data systems, controls etc
Attendance at design and construction meetings
Review of product submittals for compliance to contract documents
Interaction with customers, architects, utility company representatives, fire department officials, code enforcement officials, & contractors
Mentoring junior engineers
Scheduling projects and staff
Survey of existing systems and a wide range of electrical design work on multiple projects and coordination with mechanical, plumbing and fire protection staff as needed
Qualification
Required
BSEE
PE with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of building electrical systems
Experience working as an engineer with a consultant or engineering firm in the M,E,P industry within the last 3 years
US citizen
AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP
Understanding & use of Building, Electrical, Fire Alarm and other applicable codes
Ability to perform service entrance, feeder and branch circuit calculations, lighting calculations, voltage drop, AIC etc
Selection and sizing of equipment service and distribution equipment
Layout and design of power distribution systems, lighting systems fire alarm systems, voice/data systems, controls etc
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attendance at design and construction meetings
Review of product submittals for compliance to contract documents
