Responsibilities

Lead and manage complex, custom research projects focused on defining the strategy for Auto, Property, and Specialty insurance experiences, impacting user satisfaction and driving business outcomes
Advocate for end-users by synthesizing research insights from various sources, including primary and secondary research, industry news, and operational data
Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation across departments
Guide high-visibility research projects, working with key stakeholders (UX, Product Owners, IT, Analytics, etc.) to define user goals, create personas, and map user journeys
Influence business partners to act on research insights, providing clear, actionable recommendations and relevant business context
Communicate findings effectively, tailoring your message for both senior and executive-level stakeholders
Embrace diversity of thought and foster a culture of inclusion, ensuring all perspectives are heard and valued
Participate in team and project meetings, collaborating with stakeholders to set objectives and identify user needs
Conduct user interviews, recruit participants, analyze data, and present research findings to relevant stakeholders
Provide actionable recommendations to improve digital experiences across client’s insurance offerings
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure research aligns with business goals and user needs

Required

5+ years of UX Research experience in a corporate agile setting
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Design, or a related field. Master's degree preferred (3+ years of experience in this case)
Expertise in a wide range of qualitative research methods, including usability studies, interviews, focus groups, surveys, card sorts, and heuristic reviews
Proven ability to translate research data into actionable insights, both verbally and in writing
Proficiency in data-driven storytelling and transforming research findings into compelling visualizations
Familiarity with research tools like Qualtrics and UserZoom, as well as methodologies like Design Thinking and Lean UX
Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience in leading research efforts across cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred

Experience in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare)
Extensive experience in agile planning and development processes
A strong track record of independent decision-making and excellent business judgment
A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging industry techniques and tools
Experience with quantitative research methods is a plus
A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace
