Responsibilities
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale commercial projects, including mechanical upgrades, HVAC retrofits, roof replacements, lighting upgrades, building controls, and building envelope improvements
Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies
Manage and mentor project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and onsite supervisors
Foster strong communication and collaboration between all stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals
Provide leadership to resolve conflicts and challenges, ensuring smooth project delivery
Oversee project budgets ranging from $10M to $20M, monitoring expenses and controlling costs
Approve and track change orders, invoices, and other financial documents
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring transparency and maintaining strong relationships
Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and solutions
Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
Perform quality checks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry best practices
Evaluate and select subcontractors, negotiate contracts, and manage their performance
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
Anticipate potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies
Resolve unforeseen issues quickly, minimizing impact on project timelines or budgets
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction project management
Proven track record managing large projects ($5M–$20M) with a scope including HVAC systems, mechanical upgrades, building envelopes, and related areas
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project)
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, roofing, lighting, building controls, and energy-efficient technologies
Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred (or comparable 10 years' experience in role)
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
