This role involves assisting the Catholic Chaplain and Priest in conducting religious education and pastoral life coordination services in accordance with the Roman Catholic Church’s guidelines and various policies.

Responsibilities
Attend Parish Council meetings and Catholic Sync meetings in order to gather program information for the completion of position tasks
Provide a monthly Catholic Religious Education calendar no later than the final business day of the preceding month
Prepare facility reservation request forms, develop flyers for RE programs, and track weekly RE program attendance
Format and organize the program materials provided by the Priest, Director of Religious Education, or other government employees for RE programs weekly
Collect all supporting documentation from eligible members of the Catholic Community who are preparing to receive a Sacrament
Qualification
Required
Must be able to obtain a Catechist Certification from the Archdiocese for the Military Services within 90 days of starting. Course is 25 hours in length, online – 5 hours / week for 5 weeks
Must be able to present information orally and in written format (i.e., emails, minutes, bulletins, advertising, and marketing) in English
Must be computer competent in Windows based operating systems and be proficient in Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Software)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate volunteers and coordinate team efforts effectively
Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse age groups and community members
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion while maintaining confidentiality
