Installation Specialist
Serco is looking for a Shipboard Installation Specialist to join a high-profile and challenging project supporting US Navy installation work. The role involves managing a structural labor force and performing welding efforts to support maritime systems installations while ensuring compliance with technical guidance and quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities
Supervise the documentation and upkeep of Quality Assurance (QA) workbooks
Provide daily leadership and supervision of all assigned personnel for removal, installation of equipment, cabling and foundations and terminations in support of ship maritime systems installations
Ensure strict compliance with shipboard drawings, technical guidance, and QA inspection of installed systems
Implement shipyard operating and safety rules
Read and interpret Shipboard Installation Drawings (SIDs)
Lead teams tasked with removing and installing maritime equipment, electrical and structural components
Knowledge and understanding of WAF/Tag-Out guidelines, hot work requirements, and professional standards for structural component installation
Identify welding gear requirements to include welding consumables for multiple tasks
Maintain inventory and accountability of installation materials, tools, and test equipment as directed
Lead teams of trades to include Electricians, Mechanics, Welders, Shipfitters, Pipefitters, Subcontractors, and temp labor
Submit daily muster reports and enforce timesheet policy
Make recommendations for Conditions Found Reports (CFRs) and Liaison Action Reports (LARs)
Reports to Production Manager and Program Manager
Qualification
Required
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (having an active Secret clearance is preferred)
Must be a U.S. Citizen
This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens, be able to obtain gain access to shipyards and government installations (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation and pass a drug screening
A High School Diploma or GED
5 years of experience
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office to develop reports and update schedules
Must be familiar with NAVSEA Standard Items
Must be able to effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic production environment
Willing to work second shifts as needed and more than 40 hour work weeks
Be AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE TRAVEL and willing to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred
Having an active Secret clearance is preferred
