Responsibilities
L oad and unload freight as required
Use scanners or computer systems to put products away and track inventory
Operate narrow aisle, wire-guided machines, “operator up” equipment, forklifts, and other powered industrial trucks
Locate, move, deliver, or return materials to designated areas
Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hazardous materials regulations
Accurately document all material movements and maintain inventory location accuracy
Conduct full location audits and verify chemicals, catalog numbers, lot numbers, unit sizes, and weights against packing instructions
Print and apply required labels and markings to shipments
Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
Assist with training new employees and troubleshoot system issues with team leads and supervisors
Receive materials from outside vendors and process shipments, including hazardous items
Prepare hazardous shipping documentation in compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations
Communicate with Procurement and Customer Interface Departments regarding discrepancies, product issues, and shipping priorities
Schedule dock appointments for carriers and process CONF orders
Follow Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and company safety protocols
Exemplary attendance and adherence to the schedule required
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing
Ability to work independently and in group settings
Proficiency in operating PCs, scanners, printers, shipping equipment, and cutting instruments
Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Basic understanding of shipping regulations
Preferred
One year of work experience in material handling, shipping, or warehouse operations
Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and shipping regulations
Forklift operation experience
Forklift certification preferred
Hazardous materials handling certification is a plus
