The role involves evaluating the competency of apprentices and making final grade decisions based on assessment methods and evidence.

Responsibilities
Conduct the assessment activity to decide the competency of the apprentice
Make final Grade decisions using the assessment methods and evidence as described in the EPA plan
Maintain knowledge and skills through ongoing CPD as an independent assessor
Qualification
Required
Evidence of assessing competence, meeting the requirements of Assessment Plans
Hold a relevant Level 6 qualification, that meets the criteria as set by Department for Education and have 2 years postgraduate relevant experience within Early Years Practice
Knowledge and skills must be maintained through ongoing CPD through their employment as an independent assessor
To hold an assessment qualification, internal quality assurer qualification would be an advantage (e.g. D32/33, A1, TAQA etc.)
Make final Grade decisions using the assessment methods and evidence as described in the EPA plan
Detailed knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and assessment plan for Early Years Educator Level 3 and Early Years Lead Practitioner Level 5
Experience of complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirements
Hold a recent DSB check and undertaken Safeguarding Training applicable to the role
