FLUID COMPONENT ENGINEERING LEAD / MANAGER
Right Ascension LLC is seeking a Fluid Component Engineering Lead/Manager to oversee a team of engineers and technicians in the development and sustainment of aerospace products. The role involves managing hardware design, implementing process improvements, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Directly manage a team of engineers and skilled technicians responsible for hardware design, development, test, and production
Lead comprehensive training programs to help scale the teams capabilities
Implement process improvement initiatives and preventative maintenance plans
Continuously improve safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness across the team
Communicate performance of the area through data analysis and presentation of key metrics
Lead efforts to innovate or simplify design and or process flows
Assess requirements and identify risks
Assess applicable design & testing requirements and validation methods
Design reviews
Drawing & model reviews
Manufacturing planning reviews
Assembly & test plan reviews
Data reviews
Qualification
Required
US CITIZENSHIP OR LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS IS REQUIRED
BS degree in Engineering discipline
5+ years of hands-on hardware experience working on complex systems such as rockets, spacecraft, aircraft, or other high-performance aerospace vehicles or sub-systems thereof
1+ years of leadership experience in design, manufacturing, or testing of fluid system components with direct reports
Lead: 6-9 years industry experience
Manager: 9+ years of industry experience
Must be open to travel to trade show events, customer locations, and vendor locations on occasion
Submit at least two (2) professional references available for brief phone interview
Candidate must conform to U.S. Government technology export (ITAR) regulations. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Preferred
Strong working knowledge of aviation or aerospace design & testing standards
Strong working knowledge of conventional manufacturing processes
Strong understanding of high-pressure fluid systems, preferably pneumatic
Strong working knowledge assembling mechanical and electrical hardware
Working knowledge of 3D modelling, analysis, and drawing environments
Working knowledge of FOD control and cleanliness requirements for aerospace fluid systems
Working knowledge of various aerospace grade materials and applications
Basic working knowledge of Data Acquisition, Control, and Automation hardware & software
Willing to work in a small company environment with a high degree of responsibility and autonomy
High energy performer, willing to work in a fast-paced environment and wear multiple hats
