Assistant Director of International Relations
Columbia Southern University is seeking an Assistant Director of International Relations to assist in representing the university in its relationships with educational and industry partners. This role involves developing international partnerships, supporting international students, and managing projects that align with the university's international strategy.

Responsibilities
Assists in the development of relationships with foreign national universities and industries, supports international students, and oversees global academic initiatives
Coaches and advises University staff, faculty, and stakeholders to develop their approach to supporting our international students
Manages projects to support the development and growth of international partnerships
Provides analysis of the University’s performance against international benchmarks and drafts initiatives to expand international growth that aligns with the University’s objectives
Assists in the direction of the University’s international initiatives
Collaborate with partners across the campus in order to provide access to resources and opportunities to a large population of international students
Interact and work with staff in graduate and undergraduate programs
International and stateside travel will be required on a semi-regular basis, so appropriate and current documentation is required
Qualification
Required
A minimum of a master's degree is preferred from an accredited University, with at least 5 years of experience in a strategic role focused on international relations, business development and market expansion
Experience in exposure to diverse cultures; working within a cross-cultural, cross-functional team
Evidence of effective communication, both verbal and written, including business writing, presentations, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated knowledge and proven record of successfully engaging with global expansion initiatives
Strong comprehension of global market dynamics, international business laws, and trade regulations are necessary for success in this position
Experienced administrator with expertise in online learning, strategic international partnerships, international education, and driving international enrollment growth strategies
Knowledge of academic standards, policies and procedures; course requirements and development; faculty and staff hiring and development; student services; and accreditation
Knowledge of international higher education policies and procedures; international accreditation standards and policies; and international program evaluations
Knowledge of approval methods, standards for articulations, and articulation agreement requests for partner information
Understanding business decision implications; displaying orientation to profitability; aligning work with strategic goals
Managing time to accomplish tasks successfully
Utilizing logic and reasoning to look at different types of information to make conclusions and work through problems
Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Monitoring/assessing the performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements and/or take corrective action
Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and speaking so others will understand
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Understand cultural differences and customs and treat people with respect while upholding the culture and values
