Finance Coordinator
Alachua Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Finance Coordinator to manage daily accounting tasks and assist with the development of accounting practices. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, cash reconciliations, and supporting the annual budget planning process.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of accounting and correctly apply a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end reporting in accordance with GAAP, FASBs, Corporate Requirements, IRS guidelines,etc
Perform daily cash reconciliations, recording and reports
Ensure the timely reconciliations and reporting of monthly financial information, including cash activities, balance sheet reconciliations and deposits
Assist with month-end close. Prepare and post routine journal entries
Prepare work instructions and analyze work to develop more efficient procedures, processes and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Create reports as needed and update Excel spreadsheets as requested
Interface with other departments to ensure that financial transactions are properly reported. Work through issues with other Alachua Habitat leaders as they arise regarding financial reporting/results needed
Support the Director of Finance & Administration with the annual budget planning process and various reporting activities
Work with the Alachua Habitat retained CPA firm to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit as needed
Work with the Development Team to ensure grant reporting requirements and compliance audits are completed timely and accurately as needed
Monthly mortgage reports compiled for loan tracking and financial reporting
Perform additional duties as required and directed
Be aware of and advocate for the mission, vision, and values of Alachua Habitat
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or at least 2 years of experience in multi areas of accounting required (AP, AR, GL, Cash Management, CIP / Job Costing, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, etc.)
Understanding of GAAP and FASB requirements or being able to interpret from books/internet information required
High level of organization and attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to manage time effectively, multi-task & prioritize to meet established goals and deadlines; Ability to identify problems and apply appropriate solutions
Ability to use professional values and ethics to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; Ability to learn and effectively use other required computer software, systems, and programs
Experience using office equipment, including telephones, computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines
Ability to successfully pass a credit check, criminal background check, and drug screening
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Alachua Habitat
Preferred
Construction or Project Accounting experience preferred
