Information Technology Specialist (System Admin)
USAJOBS is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to join the DoDEA Information Technology Division's Global Operations Branch at Camp Lejeune, NC. The role involves daily operation and performance monitoring of server systems, managing accounts and access to systems, and ensuring compliance with IT security requirements.

Responsibilities
Daily operation and performance monitoring of server systems, mass storage technologies, data protection, e-mail flow, database replication and client access experience
Initial investigation of operational anomalies or challenges
Operation, monitoring, and maintenance of all Identity and Access Management Services
Manages accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment
Implements standard corrective measures, as such are available, to resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems
Ensure that all IT systems security requirements related to physical, personnel, and information security are accomplished
Plans, schedules, and executes the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software
Provide feedback to IT management regarding system's performance and emergent issues, particularly issues affecting operational availability, volatility, and instability
Qualification
Required
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required
Direct deposit of pay is required
One year trial or probationary period may be required
Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation
This position requires a Tier 3 (T3) investigation
This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
This position requires the incumbent to achieve Foundational Qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment and Residential qualification requirements within 12 months
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Identifying server performance, availability, capacity or configuration problems
Performing system administrator functions across server operating systems
Remediating security vulnerabilities or risks
Ensuring devices are secure and compliant with IT policies utilizing a cloud-based endpoint management tool such as Microsoft Intune
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience which demonstrates each of the four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving
Some positions allow substitution of education for specialized experience. For this position there is no substitution of education for specialized experience, you must meet the specialized experience to be found qualified
