Payroll Operations Manager
Halfmore, Inc. helps parents turn everyday household tasks into lifetime wealth for their children. They are seeking a Household Payroll Operations Manager to ensure smooth payroll processes and compliance with federal and state regulations for the families they serve.
Responsibilities
Register household employers with the IRS and state agencies (EIN, withholding)
Process payrolls based on client-reported timecards
File quarterly and annual reports (DE-9/DE-9C, IL-941, etc.)
Prepare and issue W-2s and W-3s each year
Keep filings and documentation meticulously organized
Communicate with IRS and state agencies to resolve issues
Collaborate with our product and engineering team to automate and improve workflows
Help families feel confident and supported throughout the process
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in payroll operations, bookkeeping, or compliance
Experience with household employment across many different states
Comfortable navigating IRS/state websites and forms
Communicate clearly and kindly with non-experts
Love to use AI tools to automate the workflow
Energized by working in a small, fast-moving team where your work has an immediate impact
