SUPERVISORY PIPING NUCLEAR INTERNAL SHOP MANAGER
NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD is seeking a Supervisory Piping Nuclear Internal Shop Manager to oversee operations in the Pipe Shop. The role involves determining resource requirements, coordinating with various departments, and planning work for subordinates to ensure efficient production processes.

Responsibilities
You will determine total resource requirements and allocation based on schedules and work sequences
You will coordinate with inside shops, ship's force and various shipyard departments for testing
You will maintain liaison with key management personnel in all shipyard departments, offices, and divisions
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Experience serving as a project manager determining, identifying, and providing resolution of changing work situations, operational, and maintenance problems with shipyard work operations, control system requirements and ship's personnel
Experience applying administrative knowledge of trade work and technical methods, procedures, materials and processes associated with the repair and overhaul of Navy vessels
Experience managing a project or portion of a project involving the directing of federal wage system and general schedule employees
Experience in project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control and work flow control techniques to correct negative trends
Experience applying Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Federal/State environmental regulations and local instructions that outline requirements for training and qualifications
