TITLE 5 MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST (MI 110th Wing)

Responsibilities

Administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Train personnel in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein
Plan, organize, and oversee the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS)
Manage personnel, unit training and administrative programs management as well as continuous improvement initiatives within the CSS
Plan, organize and execute all Group information management and personnel activities
Oversee the preparation, maintenance, and disposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence
Manage training programs for administration (3A1X1) and personnel (3S0X1) in accordance with established command guidelines
Acquire adequate training from agencies necessary to discuss personal and professional development issues with assigned personnel
Serve as the Group point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and manpower actions
Serve as central point of contact to provide authoritative explanations of personnel and/or manpower related requirements, regulations, and procedures and to assist in resolving operational problems involving all functional areas of personnel
Prepare and deliver presentations such as briefings, training sessions, and consultations with serviced Commander(s), other staff agencies and functional areas to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters and convey information
Develop and prepare a variety of correspondence and other documentation, i.e., formal memorandums, point papers, metrics, feasibility studies, staff summary packages, briefings, charts, bullet background papers, etc
Participate in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Group CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program goals
Assist managers in strategic planning and in identifying immediate and long-range program/training and technology needs
Develop CSS consolidated resource plan for staff support to include budget, equipment, computers, supplies and required services
Receive data call, review CSS historical data submissions to determine trends in spending and forecast annual funding needs
Exercise limited supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management

Required

You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for education in lieu of specialized experience for this position: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D
1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level
Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled
Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management
Experience developing administrative procedures
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
May be required to successfully complete a trial period
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
U.S. Citizenship is required
Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies
The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft/vehicle to perform temporary duty assignments
Must have a valid civilian driver's license
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission
May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments
Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day
The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory
Position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration
