Senior Accountant

They are seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare, analyze, and adjust financial statements as part of the month-end close process, while also assisting with technical accounting and financial reporting issues.

Responsibilities
Performs general accounting functions/processes
Responsible for executing assigned month end close process responsibilities of Wellstar Health Systems financial statements
Prepares journal entries and maintains document analysis and support
Assists with the application of GAAP to new transactions, where applicable
Maintains appropriate procedure documentation and adheres to Wellstar policies and procedures
Ensure that all month-end close and compliance timelines are met
Performs balance sheet and income statement analyses and reconciliations
Identify process improvement initiatives for specific areas of responsibility
Assists with preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and compliance reporting
Supports annual audits
Coordinates with local accounting and finance teams on financial transactions and resolution of unusual balances or variances
Assist with special projects as assigned
Acquisitions, accounting, and reporting
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Accounting/Finance
Minimum 3 years experience in finance, accounting
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated
Preferred
Master's Degree Masters in Accounting/Masters in Business Administration
CPA - Cert Public Accountant Upon Hire
