Junior Business Analyst

Responsibilities
Support a functional or business area by documenting requirements and maintaining backlog artifacts
Participate in discovery sessions and requirements workshops to capture and clarify business needs
Gather and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements based on defined stakeholder input
Write basic user stories and acceptance criteria suitable for refinement and sprint planning
Create simple process flows, swimlanes, and workflow diagrams to document current and future states
Maintain Agile artifacts including user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation
Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and traceable throughout the delivery lifecycle
Analyze current-state processes at a high level to identify gaps or clarification needs
Support testing activities, including requirements validation, UAT preparation, and defect documentation
Assist with backlog refinement, sprint planning preparation, and release readiness activities
Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders, raising questions or issues as needed
Qualification
Required
1–3 years of experience in a Business Analyst or related role (e.g., support, QA, operations)
Experience writing basic user stories or requirements from clearly defined business needs
Experience participating in workshops and discovery sessions to support requirements development
Ability to create simple process flows and swimlanes to document workflows
Strong attention to detail with a primary focus on documentation quality and requirements traceability
Basic understanding of Agile delivery practices and terminology
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, iterative delivery environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
This position requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card
Preferred
Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus
Familiarity with Agile lifecycle and collaboration tools such as Jira or Confluence
