Responsibilities
Under direction of licensed nursing staff, provides general clerical duties, reception duties and requisition of supplies, equipment, and coordinates with other departments for unit efficiency
Assists in maintaining the general function of the nursing unit
Answers call lights and forwards requests to appropriate team member
Answers all telephone calls within a timely fashion using appropriate scripting
Uses physician calling preferences when contacting physicians
Schedule follow up physician appointments for patients upon discharge
Contacts physicians immediately regarding stat consults per policy, for other routine contacts during business hours must contact within 2 hours
Assembles, disassembles, and maintains patient medical record per unit standard
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with keyboard
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
1 year of relevant experience Medical related experience
