Responsibilities

Overseeing all aspects of the daily production of news programming during your assigned shift
Lead and supervise a team of shift managers, producers, writers, reporters, technical staff, and other production staff to ensure that each news story goes from concept to air
Ensure that the editorial and production values of news programming meet Spectrum Networks' high standards and drive viewership, grow the audience, and strengthen the brand
Make data-informed decisions about what’s resonating to connect our audience with the stories that matter
Collaborating with a range of individuals, including reporters, producers, writers, and technical staff
Leading and directing a team to produce high-quality news programming

Qualification

Required

Management experience - 3+ years
Experience as a senior or unit producer at a news station - 5+ years
Bachelor's degree in journalism
Ability to work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
Ability to think strategically and anticipate future trends, needs and expectations
Ability to work under time pressure deadlines
Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
Ability to work various shifts, longer shifts, weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes due to 'breaking news', and/or severe weather emergencies
