Air Quality Engineer
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an innovative Air Quality Engineer to impact the environment positively. In this role, you will serve as a technical consultant on air emissions and pollution control, guiding the development of permitting criteria and assisting with technology assessments.

Responsibilities
Serve as a team leader in the Technical Support Section of the Bureau of Air Quality, Division of Permits
Guide the development of comprehensive permitting criteria
Develop General Plan Approvals and General Operating Permits for various source categories
Provide assistance to regional permitting staff in determining case-specific control technology requirements
Conduct technology assessments considering energy, environmental, and economic impacts
Draft reports and answers to questions on Pennsylvania's permitting programs
Draft responses to requests from private industry, the public, regional personnel, or other governmental agencies regarding air pollution control
Review and prepare draft comments on proposed rules, regulations, policies, procedures, air-quality standards, and legislation for potential impacts on the air quality permitting program
Qualification
Required
Two years as an Air Quality Engineering Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three years of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering; or
Four years of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
Three years of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
Graduate study in chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
