Responsibilities

Lead the configuration of complex benefit plan designs, eligibility rules, contribution structures, and enrollment workflows in the BenAdmin platform
Translate business and compliance requirements into effective system logic and user experiences, ensuring accuracy across diverse plan types and employee groups
Manage configuration during open enrollment and throughout the year, including plan updates, logic changes, and system enhancements
Conduct in-depth testing of configurations, validate edge cases, and troubleshoot enrollment behaviors across employee scenarios
Serve as the escalation point for complex technical and functional issues related to benefits setup, plan elections, eligibility logic, and system errors
Perform detailed root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve recurring or high-impact problems
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to identify solutions, recommend system improvements, and prevent future errors
Oversee the implementation and ongoing support of carrier data feeds (EDI, API, or flat file), including new feed setup, mapping, testing, and validation
Collaborate with brokers, carriers, and IT teams to define data specifications, manage timelines, and ensure accurate transmission of eligibility data
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with carrier files, such as format errors or file transmission failures
Maintain oversight of feed testing processes, and updates related to plan or vendor changes
Act as a subject matter expert to internal team members and brokers on system capabilities, best practices, and configuration strategy
Partner closely with brokers and sales teams to validate plan details, eligibility rules, and system logic
Lead meetings and working sessions related to system enhancements, vendor integrations, and benefits planning initiatives internally
Mentor and support junior and mid-level team members by reviewing configurations, answering technical questions, and sharing knowledge

Required

4+ years of experience in benefits technology, with a strong emphasis on configuration and system administration
Proven hands-on experience with benefits administration platforms such as Employee Navigator, Ease, bswift, Benefitfocus, PlanSource, ADP, or similar
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; comfortable working with structured data, mapping logic, and data validation
Advanced problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset and attention to detail
Strong knowledge of employee benefits, including eligibility logic, plan structure, and relevant compliance standards (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA)
Experience setting up and coordinating carrier integrations with multiple carriers and broker partners, including EDI file testing and resolution of data transmission issues
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, with confidence in working directly with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset and a collaborative work style
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members

Preferred

Experience with Employee Navigator is a strong plus
