ACCOUNTING OFFICER (SPECIALIST)
State Compensation Insurance Fund is California’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance, and they are seeking an Accounting Officer (Specialist) for their Cash Receipts Resolution Unit. The role involves performing professional accounting duties, serving as a subject matter expert, researching and reconciling discrepancies, and preparing training materials related to cash receipts functions.

Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert for system development activities and projects related to cash receipts and banking activities
Research, analyze, and correct the discrepancies between general ledger and bank statement of cash receipts account and reconcile the account monthly
Prepare training materials and provide the informational & educational presentations related to Cash Receipts functions
Handle suspense account and coordinate with internal and external auditors and stakeholders
Assist in conducting user testing and validation for State Fund specific systems both Legacy and NextGen applications
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to graduation from college, with specialization in accounting
Completion of a prescribed professional accounting curriculum given by a residence or correspondence school of accountancy, including courses in elementary and advanced accounting, auditing, cost accounting and business law
Completion of the equivalent of 19 semester hours of course work; 16 hours of which shall be professional accounting courses given by a collegiate-grade residence institution, including courses in elementary and advanced accounting, auditing, and cost accounting; and three semester hours of business law
Candidates must reside in California to be eligible for this appointment
