Senior Maintenance Technician - Bilingual
VareCo is a private real estate investment company specializing in value-add opportunities across multi-family markets in Denver, CO. They are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician for their Portfolio Management team to perform a full range of skilled maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks to keep buildings, systems, and grounds safe, functional, and presentable.

Responsibilities
Follow all company safety rules and applicable regulatory requirements; wear required PPE
Monitor and maintain facility grounds (snow removal, trimming, weed removal, trash pickup) to preserve a professional appearance
Maintain interior/exterior building components (painting, concrete/asphalt patching, drywall repair)
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, air compressors, and other equipment
Diagnose problems, identify corrective measures, and repair HVAC systems
Perform basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tasks
Install light fixtures; replace bulbs and ballasts
Clear obstructions from toilets, sinks, and drains
Assist with maintenance related to the fire-protection system
Be on-call and respond to building emergencies nights/weekends on a rotating basis
Install/relocate/reassemble office furniture; set up rooms for company functions
Monitor contractor activities for safety and quality; hang signs and banners
Perform other similar or less-skilled work as needed
Qualification
Required
1+ years of maintenance experience
Spanish speaking
High mechanical aptitude; working knowledge of general building systems/operations
Working knowledge of HVAC and basic plumbing techniques
Experience with electricity and basic electrical circuitry
Valid driver's license
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math; basic computer familiarity (email, Microsoft programs)
Strong communication and customer-service skills; ability to take direction and organize a daily schedule
Proficient and safe use of shop and hand tools (table/miter/band saws, drill press, airless/cup sprayers, soldering torch, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
Willingness to wear safety equipment (safety-toe shoes, glasses, gloves, fall protection, hearing protection, other PPE)
Ability to complete required hazardous-materials handling/storage/treatment training and emergency response procedures
Comfortable working indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions typical of Denver
Physical requirements: climb stairs/ladders/lift-platforms to 50 ft; lift 80 lbs occasionally/30 lbs frequently; push/pull up to 1,200 lbs with a pallet jack; stand/walk entire shift; reach, bend, crawl; work in confined spaces and on roofs
