Responsibilities
Manage, build and develop the applications engineering team
Working with management and the voice of the customer to build AE capability that will differentiate and add value to the team’s Sales Process
Institute a program of "continuous improvement" for the AE department with seminars, training and OJT
Oversee creation of part processes and cycle time estimates
Manage turnkey system projects (we also have a very sophisticated national project management team to support on major projects)
Assist In fixture/tooling design
Prepare reports for management and project requirements
Interface and assist, service, and sales departments as needed with the goal of exceeding customer expectations
Develop and manage revenue streams from engineering activity
Coordinate training classes for customers and Ellison Technologies (ET) engineers
Provide customer technical support via phone & on-site
Manage customer relationships
Coordinate machine demonstrations at ET and for trade shows
Develop and maintain builder/supplier and vendor relationships
Use, assess and recommend CAD/CAM Software Systems
Maintain proper records of customer issues and requests for support
Participate with enthusiasm on other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Proven technical leader with a passion for mentoring others
Experience in managing and developing a team of Applications Engineers
Ability to consult directly with diverse customers to improve processes
Strong fluency in programming CNC lathes, machining centers, and working with 5 axis machines
Dedication to detail with a bias towards action
Ability to create followership among team members
Self-motivated to help customers improve their overall operations
Experience in overseeing creation of part processes and cycle time estimates
Experience in managing turnkey system projects
Ability to assist in fixture/tooling design
Experience in preparing reports for management and project requirements
Ability to interface and assist service and sales departments
Experience in developing and managing revenue streams from engineering activity
Ability to coordinate training classes for customers and engineers
Experience in providing customer technical support via phone and on-site
Ability to manage customer relationships
