Associate, Asset Management & Acquisitions
Mon Ami Real Estate is a fast-growing, dynamic real estate investment company based in Chicago, managing a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties. The Associate will support new acquisitions and optimize the performance of existing assets while working closely with senior leadership and various teams to help scale the business.

Responsibilities
Source and evaluate property acquisition opportunities aligned with firm investment criteria (asset class, geographies, yield, risk profile)
Build and maintain underwriting and financial models (pro forma, sensitivity analyses, IRR, equity multiple etc.)
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, growth opportunities, and risk factors
Coordinate due diligence process: site tours, vendors (appraisal, environmental, title, survey), lease review, capital expenditure review
Prepare investment memoranda, presentations for the investment committee, and transaction closing documentation
Assist with deal structuring, purchaser/seller negotiations, coordination of lenders/investors as needed
Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, asset management, and operations teams to ensure smooth deal execution
Monitor and analyze the performance of acquired and existing assets: operating budgets, capital expenditures, variances vs business plan
Update valuation models, forecast cash flows, measure actual vs budgeted returns and provide recommendations for improvements
Partner with property operations and leasing teams to drive business plan execution: repositioning, lease strategies, risk mitigation
Prepare monthly/quarterly investor or internal reports presenting performance, key metrics, value-creation initiatives
Support disposition analysis and strategy—including next-buyer evaluation, exit timing, and value enhancement options
Assist with ongoing business plan refinements and updates based on market conditions and asset performance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics or related field
2-5 years of relevant commercial real-estate experience encompassing acquisitions, underwriting, asset management or combined functions
Strong financial modeling skills (Excel) and understanding of valuation metrics (DCF, IRR, equity multiple, cap rates)
Experience and comfort with deal execution processes, due diligence, and asset management analytics
Proficiency with real-estate software such as ARGUS, Yardi (or similar) required
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize under tight timelines
Strategic mindset with both analytical depth and operational understanding
